Child Safety Seats and Inspections
September 03, 2010Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of unintentional related death among children under 14. Vehicle seat belts are designed for the protection of adults. Unrestrained or improperly restrained children are more likely to be injured or killed than those children who are properly restrained. With a wide variety of child restraints systems, seat belt systems, passenger vehicles, correctly installing a child safety seat can be very challenging.
The DeWitt-Piatt Bi-County Health Department has on staff three certified child passenger safety technicians, who are available by appointment to give instructions and check proper installment of your child’s safety seat.
