10/11/2021 Monday

DeWitt: 1 new case in Weldon.1 new case in Farmer City.

Piatt: 1 new case in Bement.  2 new cases in Monticello.

 

10/12/2021 Tuesday

DeWitt: 1 new case in Farmer City.

Piatt: 1 new case in Monticello.

 

10/13/2021 Wednesday

DeWitt: 2 new cases in Farmer City. 1 new case in Kenney. 1 new case in Maroa. 1 new case in Waynesville.

Piatt:  2 new cases in Monticello. 1 new case in Atwood.  1 new case in Bement.

 

10/14/2021 Thursday

DeWitt: 1 new case in Farmer City.  1 new case in Waynesville.

Piatt: 2 new cases in Hammond.  1 new case in Monticello. 1 new case in Cerro Gordo.

 

10/15/2021 Friday

DeWitt: 1 new case in Farmer City.

Piatt: 2 new cases in Monticello. 2 new cases in Atwood.

DeWitt: 2 new cases in Clinton.

Piatt: 2 new cases in Atwood.  1 new case in Hammond.

 

10/17/2021 Sunday

DeWitt: 1 new case in Weldon.

Piatt: No cases reported.

 

With these additional cases, DeWitt Co has had a total of 2063 cases; Piatt Co has had a total of 2041 cases. Over the past week, DeWitt Co has had 14 cases, Piatt Co has had 19 cases. There have now been a total of 34 deaths in DeWitt Co and 14 deaths in Piatt Co due to COVID-19.

There has been growing concern regarding the Delta strain of the COVID-19 virus.  We do not have adequate data at this time to determine if any of the active cases are from this strain.  Delta has been detected in our jurisdiction.  Vaccination remains the best option to protect oneself against COVID-19, including the Delta variant.

 

Active Cases have continued to drop over the past week.  The case numbers are the lowest they’ve been since the week of 8/1/2021. Both DeWitt or Piatt counties are NO LONGER on the state WARNING LIST for COVID-19. However, incidence rates are still considered “substantial”.  The county warning list metrics are found here:

We are waiting on word about the expanded eligibility of Moderna booster shots. The FDA has approved the first stage of expanding eligibility for such additional doses, but another panel will provide final approval.
