DeWitt: 2 new cases in Clinton. 1 new case in Kenney. 1 new case in Wapella. 1 new case in Weldon.

Piatt: 3 new cases in Monticello.  1 new case in Hammond. 1 new case in DeLand. 1 new case in Ivesdale.

 

09/28/2021 Tuesday

DeWitt: 1 new case in Clinton.

Piatt: 2 new cases in Cerro Gordo. 1 new case in White Heath.

DeWitt: 3 new cases in Clinton. 2 new cases in Farmer City. 1 new case in Waynesville.

Piatt: 4 new cases in Cerro Gordo. 3 new cases in Monticello. 2 new cases in White Heath. 2 new cases in Bement. 1 new case in Milmine.

DeWitt: 1 new case in Clinton.

Piatt: 2 new cases in Cerro Gordo.

 

With these additional cases, DeWitt Co has had a total of 2024 cases; Piatt Co has had a total of 1997 cases. Over the past week, DeWitt Co has had 32 cases, Piatt Co has had 32 cases. There have now been a total of 34 deaths in DeWitt Co and 14 deaths in Piatt Co due to COVID-19. 

 

Vaccination for COVID is available through our offices.  Please call us for an appointment.  In DeWitt Co, call (217)935-3427 ext. 2141 or in Piatt Co, call (217) 762-7911 ext. 2211.  You can also receive vaccination through our local Walgreens, or through state sponsored vaccination clinics in areas nearby.

There has been growing concern regarding the Delta strain of the COVID-19 virus.  We do not have adequate data at this time to determine if any of the active cases are from this strain.  Delta has been detected in our jurisdiction.  Vaccination remains the best option to protect oneself against COVID-19, including the Delta variant.

 

Active Cases have continued to go drop over the past week.  The case numbers are near the lowest they’ve been since the week of 8/1/2021. Neither DeWitt or Piatt counties are currently on the state WARNING LIST for COVID-19. However, incidence rates are still considered “substantial”.  The county warning list metrics are found here:
